Prerequisites: None.
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide the basic information about cognitive science and experimental psychology. In the first part (prof. Grassi), the student will be provided with knowledge on the history of psychology, philosophy of psychology and methodology of psychology. In the second (prof. Roncato), the student will be provided with the basic motions about cognitive science such as sensation, perception, memory, intelligence, language, and emotions.
Examination methods: The exam is composed of two separated parts. The first part is a questionnaire via pc and addresses to the topics of the first part of the course. The second part is written and is composed of a list of open questions. The second part addresses to the contents of the second part of the course.

Chambers, C. (2017). The seven deadly sins of psychology: A manifesto for reforming the culture of scientific practice. Princeton University Press.
Dienes, Z. (2008). Understanding psychology as a science: An introduction to scientific and statistical inference. Palgrave Macmillan.
The reading these books is not compulsory. However, topics and materials of these two books will be discussed and presented during the lessons. Prof. Grassi will provide alternative materials (e.g., slides) that will be taken from these books.
