Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic concepts of cognitive psychology and descriptive statistics are useful to follow the lessons.
Target skills and knowledge: The main aims of this course are:
1) Understand the main research methods in cognitive psychology
2) Acquire the tools to conceive, develop and implement a research project
3) Develop critical and scientific thinking skills
Examination methods: The exam is written with 31 multiple choice questions. For each question there will be four possible alternatives. The exam is carried out on the computer and lasts 35 minutes.
Examples of questions will be provided and discussed during the course, to allow a self evaluation and become familiar with the procedure.
An optional oral integration will be provided, consisting in a group presentation to be presented to the class.
Assessment criteria: Students will be evaluated on the acquisition of the topics included in the book chapters.

1) Psychology and science
2) Research ethics
3) Variables
4) Charts and tables
5) Validity and control
6) Research design
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal and interactive lessons, and individual and group exercises carried out during the lessons.
Laboratories activities will be implemented and discussed during the classes.
Additional notes about suggested reading: All the teaching material presented during the lectures will be available on the "moodle" platform.
