Prerequisites: No specific previous knowledge is required
Target skills and knowledge: This course is designed to introduce the study of cognitive neuroscience. We will also cover the methods cognitive neuroscientists use to find the answers to these questions and become acquainted with many of the important findings and theoretical approaches in the field. We will especially focus on the contribution of the study of event-related potential to the progress of Cognitive Neuroscience. At the end of the course, the student will have learned to think critically about neuroscientitic and psychological evidence, and to evaluate its validity and its relevance in real life.
Examination methods: written exam with multiple choice questions
Assessment criteria: For the written exam there will be 1 score for each correct response. If the student will score 31 s/he will get the 30 cum laude. The degree of active participation during the classes will also be taken in due consideration.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Interactive frontal classes, with practical examples, experiments (in the classroom and in the lab), and probably multimedial materials.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Notes taken during classes and first part of the Textbook: Introduction to Psychology Atkinson – Hilgard (15th ed.), or, if it will be out in time, another book by Il Mulino "Il cervello al lavoro: Nuove prospettive in neuropsicologia", a cura di PATRIZIA BISIACCHI & ANTONINO VALLESI (currently in press).
