Syllabus
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Step responce properties: step response and its main properties both in the time-domain and in the frequency-domain, rise time and bandwidth, settling time and resonance peak, system type.

Output feedback and BIBO stability: cart motion control, output feedback, BIBO stability of a feedback system, Nyquist criterion and its applications.

Feedback control: some preliminary properties of a standard feedback control scheme, compensator design (by resorting to standard structures), PID controllers.

Design examples: development of some practical applications of control theory.
