Syllabus
Prerequisites: basics of hydraulics
Target skills and knowledge: Learning of: Non dimensional analysis, error theory, how to use hydraulic instruments.
Examination methods: Oral examination on the theoretical topics and discussion on the lab experiments.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the student's preparation will focus on his understanding of the topics addressed, the acquisition of concepts and methodologies and on his ability in applying them in autonomy.
Course unit contents: System of measurement, non dimensional analysis and metrology;
Characteristics of the hydraulic instruments;
Water level measurements;
Pressure measurements;
Velocity measurements;
Water flow measurements;
Outline on sediment transport measurements.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures and laboratory experiences.
