Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic elements of Political Science, European union politics, Local government.
Target skills and knowledge: The module focuses on urban policies in multilevel context and on dynamics of local innovation. It is aimed at providing students with a working knowledge theories of local development in multi-level context and european policies for cities and local innovation.
Examination methods: oral exam. Students attending classes will be asked also to participate in group presentations.
Assessment criteria: Group presentation (max 3 people): 50%
Final exam: 50%
Course unit contents: • multi-level governance, network governance, urban governance, governance collaborativa.
• European Union policies for local development; Urban sustainable development.
• Urban innovation, smart cities and smart specialization.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures, case-study presentation and discussion, interactive lecturing, working groups.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Erasmus students can take the exam in English on English textbooks.
