Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic mathematical notions
Target skills and knowledge: Developing basic statistical notions and operational abilities (using a spreadsheet) finalized to the analysis of social contexts and processes.
Examination methods: Semi-structured test, composed of:
a) theoretical part (test);
b) practical part (computer-based exam using Excel).
Assessment criteria: Aggregated final evaluation:
a) theoretical structured text (10 points);
b) practical part (computer-based exercises using Excel)(18 points);
c) online homeworks (3 points).
Course unit contents: I - Data collection
II - Descriptive statistical analysis
III - Social indicators and socio-deographich database
IV - Data analysis using “Excel”
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures and statistical-information laboratory with the use of “Excel”.
