Syllabus
Prerequisites: Prerequisites are not required; recommended is the knowledge of physics and mechanics
Target skills and knowledge: The student acquires the basis to manage the agricultural machines in viticulture.
In particular, how to choose, size and adjust the tractor and the main implements according to the economic, agronomic and environmental requirements of the specific crop.
Examination methods: Normally, the exam is a test with open questions. Examinations in progress could be done.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will be based on both the understanding of the arguments and the acquisition of concepts applied autonomously and in a conscious way
Course unit contents: 1,5 CFU: Work organization of agricultural machinery and plants.
0,5 CFU: The agricultural tractor.
0,5 CFU: Machines and implements for vineyard protection
1,5 CFU: Other machines and implements for vineyard management
2 CFU: Precision viticulture
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course is organized in a 60% of lectures and tutorials in a 40% of tutorial part guided visits and seminars with technical staff of agricultural equipment companies
Additional notes about suggested reading: Constant frequency throughout the course is recommended also to learn the technical terminology. Slides projected during the lessons are available on the School website
