Syllabus
Prerequisites: To have already obtained credits concerning the following course units:
BIOLOGY, FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF CHEMISTRY, ORGANIC AND BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, MATHEMATICS, ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Target skills and knowledge: Theoretical and applied knowledge and understanding: Students develop an understanding of market economy, supply theory and the structure of the agro-food sector both at the National and at the International level.
Moreover, students will improve they skills in the decision support methods aiming at analysing and evaluating food companies performances from an economic and financial point of view, also thanks to quantitattive applications.
Examination methods: Written exam. The following oral discussion is not mandatory.
Written exam structure: questions open and close, quantitative exercises, balance sheet compilation.
Assessment criteria: The final exam will evaluate student's theoretical knowledge on the basis of firms behavior, methods aiming to evaluate the agro-food companies and food sector performances.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Theoretical lectures, microeconomics quantitative exercises and accounting exercises, also in small groups; self assesement questionnaires
