Syllabus
Prerequisites: Psychodynamic Psychology, infant research

Adolescent clinical evaluation
Target skills and knowledge: Starting front the first year of MPCS courses, the present course will help the student to define the clinical evaluation of the child/adolescent/family. Consequently, the psychopathological diagnosis, an intervention program will be planned. Methods of evaluation of the clinical intervention/psychotherapy will be highlighted (outcome-process psychotherapy research).
Examination methods: written, 1 hour and a half in which students provide a PDM profile of a given single case
Assessment criteria: The exam will be a clinical case evaluation, asking the students both the clinical assessment battery the diagnosis with PDM2 and the intervention planning, with measures of psychotherapy/intervention efficacy. Exam mark will be calculated in respect with completeness and pricision of the the diagnostic profile.
Course unit contents: After a brief theoretical explanation about diagnostic iter and basic psychotherapy research guidelines, with clinical cases exemplifications, students will be asked to plan both assessment hypotheses (battery of tools) and clinical intervention (included a measure of efficacy).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons.
Clinical case exemplifications and discussion in little work-groups.
Some lessons will be presented by external professionals (neuropsychiatrists, developmental psychotherapists...) with an open discussion with students.
