Syllabus
Prerequisites: There's no special knowledge requested to attend the course and face the exam of criminology.
Target skills and knowledge: Learning of the main theories and the main approaches to the study of criminal sciences.
Ability of applying these theories with regard to specific cases and individual offenses.
Examination methods: The examination is oral and it consists in an exposition and a discussion on the topics explored during the course.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will focus on analytic and critic knowledge of the topics and issues related to the materials delivered by the professor.
Course unit contents: The course represents an introduction to the theory and practice of the sciences of criminology. A special attention will be dedicated to the relationship between emotions, feelings, madness and crime; as well as to che crimes family-related e to those others in which the event is a psychological fact.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lectures, audio – visual aids, reports of external experts and seminars. The theoretical lessons will be followed by analysis of judicial cases.
Additional notes about suggested reading: The professor will give all the materials of the course at the beginning of it, and thanks to the online network they will be also at the disposal of the non-attending students.
