Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of work and organizational psychology is required.
Target skills and knowledge: Starting from a reflection on the role of the Human Resource Function, the course aims to elaborate on issues relating to the management, development, and valorization of people in organizational contexts, with particular reference to the current work market.
Examination methods: Written (open-ended and/or multiple choise questions).
Assessment criteria: The preparation and assessment of students will be based on mastery of theoretical and methodological perspectives related to the topics covered, as well as on their ability to apply this knowledge to the possible areas of intervention in the human resources management and organizational development.
Course unit contents: 1) Person, work, organization
2) Human Resource Management: evolution of the subject and modes and techniques of management of people in organizational contexts
3) Preventing Stress in Organizations: How to Develop Positive Managers
5) The human resource manager: values, competencies, and training for a responsible management
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The lectures aim to explore the issues proposed and provide guidance to students as they study the text and will be complemented by discussions and in-depth analyses. Individual and group exercises will allow students the chance to get to know specific work realities. Research and organizational intervention cases will be presented. Students’ active participation will be greatly appreciated.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Any supplementary activities will be arranged during the course, according to individual needs and interests.
