Syllabus
Prerequisites: None
Target skills and knowledge: The course has the following knowledge and skills expected:
1. knowledge of the functioning of BIM Authoring tools related to all the disciplines and systems constituting the building organism;
2. Methods of verification and coordination of BIM models and planning of the resolution processes of project interferences / inconsistencies;
3. Monitoring processes during the construction phase;
4. BIM Management techniques and coding and standardization systems for the implementation of networks of interoperable models;
5. Knowledge of 4D Modeling techniques and tools for planning, graphic visualization and monitoring of the implementation process;
6. Knowledge of the techniques and tools of 5D Modeling for the economic quantification of the projects and for the final accounting of the works;
7. Coordination and monitoring of implementation processes through digital applications.
Examination methods: The assessment of the knowledge and expected skills is carried out through the oral exam with presentation of a project to digitize the construction site.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation criteria with which the knowledge and skills acquired will be verified are:
1. Quality and complexity of the BIM model and evaluation of its effectiveness in relation to the typical issues of construction management;
2. Articulation and completeness of 4D - 5D models;
3. Knowledge of planning techniques, economic evaluation and BIM Management;
4. Competence on software applications used or presented during the course.
Course unit contents: The contents are articulated on the followings subjects:
Introduction to BIM: Disciplines, standards, regulations and best practices.
Informative and parametric modeling techniques in the architectural, structural and plant design fields.

BIM model coordination techniques: interference analysis and management of resolution processes
BIM Management techniques for managing complex projects.
Coding and standardization systems for the implementation of networks of interoperable models.
4D planning and quantification of works through BIM tools: knowledge of databases, development techniques and software.
Coordination and monitoring of implementation processes through digital applications
