Introduction to Transportation Technics and Economics
Target skills and knowledge: Significant and essential learning:
- Models and tools for analyzing traffic operations at two-way two-lane rural roads and freeways. Operational analysis, project analysis and planning.
- Models and tools for analyzing traffic operations at unsignalized intersections, roundabouts and signalized intersections. Operational analysis, project analysis and planning.
The theoretical comprehension of real phenomena (traffic) and their representation using mathematical models allow to face day-by-day issues in the traffic flow operations. The course provides an opportunity to present material that is not only useful to engineering students who are pursuing careers in transportation engineering, but is also interesting and challenging to those who intend to work in other area.
