Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge in science and agronomy with particular reference to agronomic practices and crop management.
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the professional fields of the agricultural world and the basic skills needed to independently manage the main issues related to this context: from agronomic problem solving to the regulation, economic aspects management and project activities connected to the farm.
Examination methods: The course does not include a final exam, however it is necessary to attend at least 80% of the scheduled hours to get the credits recognition.
Course unit contents: The course is organized in two sections: the first one is focused on the main problematic topic of the agricultural world with particular attention to agronomic practices, crops cultivation management, environmental sustainability and agriculture innovation. The second part, on the other hand, will be structured with seminar-type activities held by experts / agronomists illustrating several issues with case studies and practical examples.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course will mainly be based on frontal lessons, maximizing the interaction with the students. The seminar activities will be focused on case studies provided by the experts and by the students. The topics will be deeply examined with a progressive knowledge oriented approach, which will lead the student to have a professional overview of the agricultural context.
Additional notes about suggested reading: Lecture notes, seminar and additional material used for the course will be available to students through the Moodle platform of the School.
