Prerequisites: Adequate knowledge of the contents of the following introductory courses: "Mathematics" and "General physics 1".
Target skills and knowledge: Good knowledge of the subjects of electromagnetism and adequate ability to solve problems on the same topics.
Examination methods: Written and oral examination
Assessment criteria: Written and oral examination on the content of the course listed in the program. Overcoming the written tests during the course is equivalent to passing the written test examination.
Course unit contents: - Electricity and electric currents:

Coulomb's law. Electric field. Electric potential generated by a charge and by a charge distribution. Electric dipole. Electrostatic induction.
Conductors. Insulators. Gauss theorem and its applications. Capacitors. Dielectrics.
Electrical currents. Ohm's law. Joule's law. RC circuits. Semiconductors.

- Magnetism and electromagnetism:

Magnetic field. Biot Savart law. Lorentz force.
Magnetic dipole moment. Magnetic dipole in a magnetic field. Ampere theorem. Faraday's law. Inductance. RLC circuits. Oscillations. Magnetic properties of matter. Paramagnetism, diamagnetism, ferromagnetism.
Induced electromagnetic field. Maxwell's equations.
