Syllabus
Prerequisites: Knowledge of the basic psychological concepts.
Comprehension of written English.
Target skills and knowledge: By the end of the course students will be able to:

- make appropriate use of the terms referring to personality and individual differences;
- know the main personality theories and approaches;
- know the main methods used to study individual differences in relation to individual cognitive (and non-cognitive) aspects;
- understand the main research methodology applicable to the sphere of personality and individual differences;
- know and have experience of applying the main methodologies applicable to research and analyses in the personality and individual differences domain.
Examination methods: Written exam with multiple choices and open questions.

For international students the exam can be English: written exam with open questions.
Assessment criteria: The assessment will consider:
1. knowledge and ability to argue on main approaches and studies on personality and individual differences;
2. the ability to expose clearly as well as pertinence and ability to synthesize the acquired knowledge about personality and individual differences (assessed through open questions).
Course unit contents: - Review of main approaches on personality (trait, cognitive and social-cognitive and humanistic perspectives);
- Analysis of the cognitive and non-cognitive variables involved in individual differences; it will be considered in the course: motivation, memory, study and learning, spatial abilities and orientation in relation to individual differences.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Frontal lessons.
Simulations and games.
Self-assessments.
Tutorials in classroom and in the lab.
Small group activities.
