Assessment criteria: Correct answers to multiple choice questions. Completeness of answers to open questions. Correct calculations
Course unit contents: Foundations of computer science. Hardware and software. Representation of information : numbers , text , multimedia . Architecture of a computer ( Von Neumann ). Application software : spreadsheets. Using mathematical and logical functions in spreadsheets. Using spreadsheets for simple graphical presentations and analysis of useful data in the field and for the thesis.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Direct lessons. Practice on PC in classroom.
