Syllabus
Prerequisites: Students must have A2 French language proficiency of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Target skills and knowledge: The main objective of the course is to master B1 French language skills of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), by studying French grammar and the lexicon of mediation and language rights.
Examination methods: The final assessment consists of a propaedeutic written exam centered on grammar points and of an oral examination to be held in French based on the program of the course.
Assessment criteria: The assessment of the student's progress will be based on the acquisition of B1 French language skills of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and French oral expression based on the program of the course.
Course unit contents: - Study of French grammar and grammatology;
- Acquisition of B1 French language skills of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR);
- Listening, reading, translation and analysis (morphosyntactic, lexical, semantic, terminological), discussion in French (written and oral), for various types of texts (written, oral, multimedia) related in particular to the French of mediation and language rights;
- Study of French of mediation and language rights.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The institutional course of the teacher, delivered through face-to-face teaching (but also practice and other activities), is joined by French speaking exercises run by the lectors. The aim is to ensure a wide and structured preparation.
It is strongly recommended to attend regularly both classroom lessons and the lectors’ courses, but also to use the Language Lab, in self-learning, or under the guidance of the lectors.
Additional notes about suggested reading: On the claweb site (http://claweb.cla.unipd.it/francese/) you will find learning resources for the French language, including the online course "Dynamo{ t }s - français pour débutants" (from beginner to level B1 of the European reference framework).
Other materials to be studied or consulted will be recommended by the teacher on the Moodle platform SPGI (https://elearning.unipd.it/spgi/), in the section dedicated to the current "French Language" course.
