Syllabus
Target skills and knowledge: The student is required to 1. Acquire knowledge about: environmental impacts and environmental management; the main wastewater treatment processes; the fundamental aspects of European and National laws concerning environmental protection and environmental management; the main methods and problems for the energy use of residual biomasses and agro-industrial by-products; master some relevant mathematical tools. 2. develop application and judgement capabilities: capability of sketching a wastewater treatment process and an agro-food byproduct energy use process; writing mass and energy balances and carry out a cost analysis.
