Syllabus
Prerequisites: Good knowledge of Latin morphology and syntax.
Target skills and knowledge: History and development of the Latin language from its Indo-European origins to the end of VI century C.E.
Examination methods: The interview will ascertain the knowledge gained by the student about topics explained and discussed during the course.
Assessment criteria: During the interview the student will be tested on the main questions of the development of the Latin and its relationship to the Italic context.
Course unit contents: The course aims to improve the knowledge of the various phases of development of Latin both as communicative and literary language.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The student will be able to improve the knowledge of the Latin in its diatopic and diachronic varieties thanks to help of another subsidiary sciences (archeology, history, epigraphy, writing techniques, analysis of textual typologies, et cetera
Additional notes about suggested reading: Course material will be indicated and partially given by the teacher.
