Target skills and knowledge: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- to understand the value of holding an adequate euristic model to interpretate the relationship between law and society, in order to analyse some concrete aspect of the law life within social relations.
- to develop a comparative analysis between this model and the main theories in this field, in order to interpretate their limits conceiving the nature and functions of the law and of its relation to the society
- to learn to apply this model to the modern law evolution, paying particular attention to the passage from the liberal state to the welfare state.
- to analyse and to interpretate the contemporary crisis of the law and the consequent open perspectives.
- to apply more advanced theories analysing the normative phenomena as ambivalence, systemic models, complexity, globalization, softlaw.
- to apply these approaches to contemporary legal events
- to develop a critical attitude toward the legal phenomena, according to a decostructivist approach
