Prerequisites: Specific prerequisites are not required for attending the course.
Target skills and knowledge: The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic knowledge and competence about the main theoretical perspectives in the sociological context concerning communication (interpersonal, mass media, computer-mediated) and its role within the contemporary society. Many exemplifications will be provided with the aim to explain the complexity of the communicative process in daily life.
Furthermore, the course proposal regards the study of the process of construction and fulfillment of the dialogic interview as communicative practice, as path of comprehension and learning of the forms and modalities of the interpersonal communication and as a tool for the understanding of the social world and the interactions and communications, which characterize it.
Examination methods: It is a written exam, with three questions on the two mandatory books and one question on the book of your choice.
The questions are open, with no limit to the length of the answer.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will consider the capability of the student to interpret daily life’s situations through the provided conceptual tools.
Each answer to the exam’s questions will get a grade. The average of the three grades obtained will provide the definitive evaluation.
