Syllabus
Prerequisites: The knowledge acquired in the Dynamic Psychology course will be helpful for understanding this course.
Target skills and knowledge: The course will provide an understanding of the structure and dynamics of the group, according to the psychodynamic model, and the principles to compose and conduct the groups in various areas (clinical, educational, institutional ...). The skills to be acquired relate to the basic understanding of the psychological processes activated in the groups and their articulation in different settings
Examination methods: Written: three open questions
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will be based on student’s ability to develop the topics of the questions precisely and completely, also showing –though concisely- his/her own personal knowledge and critical thinking skills, with the possibility of laud whereas the teacher notices particular originality and competency.
Course unit contents: The theoretical basis of group dynamics. The historical origins of psychoanalytic work with groups. The vertices of observation to work with groups: people, relationships, the relationship between people and group, transpersonal phenomena. The boundaries of the group and the group field. The phases of the group from birth until the end. The thought of the group: characteristics and evolution. The therapeutic factors. The emotions in the group and the drivers of change. The group and the institution.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The lectures frontal concern topics in program that the student will deepen through the study of textbooks. It'called for the active intervention of the students. Attending students will receive, during the lessons, signs of a mode of exam preparation that takes account of classroom teaching.
