Syllabus
Prerequisites: The course does not require specific prior knowledge.
Target skills and knowledge: The course will provide the student the basic competences to design and manage a business project. Great focus will be given to innovation and new media projects. The course will deal with the topic of digital startups the VC, business angels dynamics. At the end of the course the student should be able to design, evaluate and start an effective business project.
Examination methods: Group project and written individual exam.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the student is organised in two phases:
- Development and presentation of a group project,
- Individual examination.
The individual exam tests the preparation on the theoretical bases presented during the course, the project verifies the ability to put them into practice on a concrete case study.
Course unit contents: - Companies, managers and owners. Company structure and procedures. StartUps. Business Model, Value Propositione and USP
- Customers. Channels and Customer Relationship. Resources, Activities and Partnership.
- Costs and Revenues. Startup Business Model Design. SWOT Analysis. Innovative Business Model.
- Recruiting, Job Selection and Public Speaking
- Legal and Fiscal Notes
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Some lectures will provide the theoretical basis. A number of practical examples will serve to show how the different companies operates on the market.
The realization of a project will involve the planning of the launch of a startup, from the creation of the design team, to the definition of the business model and the pitch presentation.
