Syllabus
Prerequisites: None
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims at giving students an understanding on the main topics related to integrated watershed management in mountainous and floodplains environment. Students will learn about the effects related to climate and land use change in highly populated regions. Students will learn how manage the main environmental data in a GIS environment, focusing on those data related to hydro-geomorphological processes (erosion, landslides, rainfall runoff). This in support to strategies and decisions for land use planning and hydrogeological risk assessment.
Examination methods: Drafting of a technical report that must include the main topics illustrated during the labs.
Oral examination about the main theoretical concepts and the report as well.
Assessment criteria: Capability of the candidate to discuss to present a case study, raising problems and highlighting likely solutions
