Notes: The aim of this course is to introduce students into bibliographic researches, particularly for thesis work.
Bibliographic section: how to read a bibliography. What’s a bibliographic reference. How can I find a book or a magazine.
Catalogue section: what’s a catalogue, the catalogue of Padova library system, the catalogue of electronic review CaPerE.
Information research section: information source, kind of documents, AIRE Portal, Scopus Database.
PubMed Database section.
Resource evaluation section and bibliography management: AIRE Portal, resource evaluation, bibliography manager RefWorks.
Thesis and plagiarism section: correct use of information in thesis work and plagiarism.
The course includes practical exercises about subject matter and final test with research of publication of an author (or an argument) in database, limited to a defined time, and relevant bibliography.
