Syllabus
Prerequisites: Good knowledge of English (B1-B2 level of the Common European Framework or Reference for Languages): texts will be read in the original language.

Target skills and knowledge: Critical analysis of the texts in reference to the historical, social and cultural context in which they were produced as well as to critical/scholarly material. Acquisition of the appropriate language to talk about literary texts and phenomena.
Lectures will be held in English.
Examination methods: Written exam in English.
The syllabus and reading material for the exam are the same for students who attend lectures and for those who don't.
Assessment criteria: Knowledge of the texts, quality of their analysis, and correct use of the language in context.
Course unit contents: This course will entail the reading and analysis of the major poems of the Romantic period and the Victorian Age in England, also in relation to their historical, social, political and cultural context.
