Syllabus
Prerequisites: Required general concepts concerning psychology and social science.
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims to provide students with a basic training in work and organizational psychology.
The student will acquire specific knowledge in relation to the main areas of study and intervention of the work and organizational psychology.
In reference to the specific knowledge, students can develop critical thinking and interpretative skills both theoretical and applied.
Examination methods: The exam is in written form, with open-ended questions.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation will focus on the mastery of content; the correctness, accuracy and completeness of the response; reworking by the student; on the ability to consider both theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline.
Course unit contents: Main areas of application of the work and organizational psychology.
Methods and tools of the work and organizational psychology.
Stress and work-related stress.
Psychological strain, satisfaction and burnout.
Ergonomics and safety.
Conflict in organizations.
Mobbing.
Organizational climate and culture.
Organizational commitment.
Perceived organizational support.
Workload.
Workaholism.
Organizational well-being.
Positive management.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course will consist of lectures supplemented by discussions and interactive ways.
The lectures will be aimed at presentation and thoroughness of the topics covered by the program.
Will be offered group work, practice exercises, analysis of cases and organizational interventions to develop skills of analysis and judgment.
It will be very much appreciated the active participation of students, with interventions during the lessons and suggestions for topics to be explored.
