Prerequisites: The courses concerning pedagogic fundamental principles are particularly useful.
Target skills and knowledge: The main objective of the course is to allow a deep understanding about consultation, about design and evaluation of interventions in educational settings. It aims to provide useful elements for understanding the main features of the design methodology, as well as the main issues related to the evaluation as a fundamental part of the design process.
Examination methods: Written exam with open and multiple-choice questions (oral exam on student request).
International students have the possibility to take the exam in english language.
Assessment criteria: Assessment criteria concern different capacities among which:
- argumentation;
- creating and identifying links among different issues;
- using appropriate bibliographic references;
- critical thinking.
Course unit contents: The work of psychologists in the perspective of health promotion. The consultation process. The design of interventions. The evaluation as a fundamental part of the design process. The development of an evaluation plan of the interventions. Evaluation procedures and instruments. Presentation, analysis and critical review of some examples of empirical researches and interventions in schools and in other educational settings.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course is based on frontal lessons and classroom discussions. Group works, exercises on the materials provided, case studies presentations will be offered. The active participation of students will be very appreciated. Seminars held by an expert will be organised during the course.
Additional notes about suggested reading: English material could be offered to international students.
