Syllabus
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the basic concepts of General and Developmental psychology. Familiarity with the basics of the course in Psychology of disability.
Target skills and knowledge: The course intends to examine the difficulties associated to disability and social diseases. Inclusion and participation will be examined and, then, counseling and programs to facilitate them will be analyzed. Special attention will be directed to the involvement of important persons, like peers, parents, teachers and employers.
Examination methods: The exam, based on the number of students present, will be in written or oral form.
Assessment criteria: - Knowledge of the theoretical topics covered by the program
- Use of technical language
- Knowledge of procedures for assessment and intervention
Course unit contents: - Difficulties associated to disabilities and social diseases
- Social inclusion and participation
- Counseling and programs to stimulate social inclusion and participation
- Involving parents
- Involving peers
- Involving teachers and employers
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The lectures will discuss the main theoretical and methodological issues of the discipline and will present field experiences.
