Syllabus
Prerequisites: It is assumed that students have basic knowledge on clinical psychology (general psychopathology, theoretical models and research methods in clinical psychology), as well as on the structure and functions of central and peripheral nervous system.
Target skills and knowledge: The course is aimed at providing a general frame of Clinical Health Psychology, and its application. The course will cover the effects of stress on neurohormonal systems, and health or illness dispositions in stress-related disorders. One section of the Course will cover the topic of Mental Health. Students will be also trained to apply self-regulation andstress managemeent procedures for prevention and rehabilitation.
Examination methods: The exam includes a written test with multiple choice, Yes/No, completion and open questions.

Exam registrations by proxy will not be accepted.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of student knowledge will be based upon the ability to comprehend and report concepts and methods related to the issues examined during the course, as well as the capacity of application of skills acquired.
Course unit contents: - Clinical Health Psychology: general framework and principal models;
- The Psychobiology of the Stress;
- Stress related disorders, and at risk populations: examples;
- Stress management procedures;
- The field of Mental Health.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Lessons will cover the course topics with the aid of audiovisuals. Seminars and practical exercises will address specific topics.
Students will then move on to a thorough study of the course contents using textbooks. Also, students will have the opportunity, during the course, to test their preparation for the exam.
Based on the availability of the Clinical Services and the Laboratories of Psychophysioogy at the Department of General Psychology, visit of the Clinical Services and lab sessions will be organized.
