Syllabus
Prerequisites: English language
Target skills and knowledge: The course allow the students to learn theories as well as research and work methods in the domain of social ergonomics and new communication environments. A specific part of the course is devoted to students enrolled in the "Comunità" study program (on the use of new technologies in social intervention) and in "Comunicazione" study program (Management and Social Network, ICT Based Marketing).
It is recommended to visit the website of HTLab htlab.psy.unipd.it and the related Facebook page HTlab - Human Technology Lab to have an overview of the topics deal with in these disciplines
Examination methods: Attending students: Written and/or oral (to be decided together with the students during class)
Non-attending students: oral
Assessment criteria: Theoretical, methodological and practical knowledge connected with research and professional activity in Social Ergonomics and Computer Mediated communication. Ability to work individually and in group.
Course unit contents: Theories and models in social ergonomics
Metrologies and techniques of work and research techniques in social ergonomics
Persuasion and credibility when interacting with technologies
Serious games and new technologies in social intervention
Virtual communities, how they start, what they serve, and how they can be supported
Computer mediated communication
E-work, working at a distance and computer supported cooperative work
E-marketing for enterprises and no-profit
Social network or enterprises and no-profit
Digital divide and access to technologies
Sustainability, technologies and society
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Standard lectures along with interactive class hours with tools, workshop and group work. Handouts and work material will be distributed during the course. Interested students can participate in interactive classes on the use of lab technologies and in collaborative activities focused on bibliographic, technico-scientific or observational-ethnographic work.
