Syllabus
Prerequisites: The student must have knowledge of normal human anatomy, physiology, general pathology, clinical methodology and pathological anatomy that allow him to understand the medical questions and problems that will be presented during the course.
Target skills and knowledge: The General Surgery Course is aimed to provide the scientific fundamentals and theoretical-practical preparation necessary to practice the medical profession; it also provides the methodological and cultural basis for a continuous training and the methodological foundations of scientific research. At the end of the course the student must therefore acquire professional, decision-making and operational autonomy that will allow him to responsibly and productively attend the subsequent levels of post-degree training. The training must be characterized by a holistic approach to the health problems of the sick person, even in relation to the physical and social environment that surrounds him.
Examination methods: Oral or written exam at the end of the course. The exam will be based on the contents of the program.
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the acquired knowledge will take into account the ability of the student to set up a line of reasoning aimed at understanding the patient's problems, their exact classification and possible solution.

Shock. Burns. Digestive system pathology. Acute abdomen.
Digestive bleeding. Pathology of the neck. Pathology of the respiratory apparatus and mediastinal. Pathology of the abdominal wall.Retroperitoneum pathology. Breast pathology. Vascular pathology. Proctological pathology. Bariatric surgery. Transplants.
Ostomy. Urological surgery. Cardiac Surgery. Neurotraumatology.
Thoracic and abdominal traumatology. Endocrine Surgery.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The course consists of lectures with illustration of topics via slides and / or videos. Theoretical-practical lessons are planned in the surgical department, clinic, operating room, and endoscopic room.
