Syllabus
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims to develop language proficiency in understanding, analyzing and discussing written texts of various types. The acquisition of the language skills is designed to enable the students to analyze, report, discuss and summarize different written texts in order to reach the level B1 + (CEFR) knowledge of the English language.
Examination methods: In the test (75 minutes), students must demonstrate their ability to understand an English text of about 600/800 words (similar to those examined during the course, but not one of them) answering to ten multiple-choice questions, two open-ended questions and performing an cloze exercise (lexical type).
Students are not allowed to use monolingual or bilingual dictionaries.
Course unit contents: The development of the reading and writing skills mainly applied to sociological, political science, historical, legal and environmental texts.
