Syllabus
Prerequisites: - Bases of anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system (CNS)
- Bases of clinical neurology
- Bases of rehabilitation methods
Target skills and knowledge: Attending the course the student will:
- be taught on control mechanisms of the motor system and how neurological diseases affect them
- be taught on neuroscience principles underpinned during the recovery process after CNS lesions
- be taught on principles of assessment and planning of motor therapy in neurorehabilitation
- be taught on clinical practice and application of therapeutic exercise to promote functional recovery of neurologically illed patients
- be taught on critical appraisal of scientific literature in neurorehabilitation

- Translational research in neurorehabilitaiton (the Cumberland Consensus model)

- Evidence on prevalent clinical pictures in neurorehabilitation (stroke; Traumatic Brain Injury; Spinal Cord Injury; Multiple Sclerosis; Parkinson diseases)
- Syndromes in neurorehabilitation (Neglect; Apraxia; Pusher syndrome)
- Pharmacological agents in neurorehabilitation
