Syllabus
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of the Russian language.
Target skills and knowledge: The course aims to make students able to orientate themselves with sufficient mastery in critical tools in Russian language (in both paper and digital), to deal with a text and to sustain an essential verbal communication on issues of relevance.
Examination methods: The exam consists of a written test and an oral examination; the first consists of a translation from Russian conduct using the vocabulary and the second seeks to verify the communication skills and the learning level of the themes discussed during the course.
Assessment criteria: Will be assessed the quality of translation from Russian into Italian and the ability of orally a topic prepared. The judgment will be synthesized in a mark according to the Italian system.
Course unit contents: The course aims to empower written and oral understanding ability, while consolidating the already acquired morpho-syntactic skills. Particular attention will be paid to an expansion of specific vocabulary through guided readings and translations critical material of historic-political character.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Will be proposed historical-political and communicative texts. Within each text will be identified once by once some morpho-syntactic structures which will be in-depth explained by the theoretical linguistics.
The topics treated are:
- morphology: formation and use of gerunds and participles, comparatives and superlatives; numerals; some insights on the aspect of the verb.
- syntax: impersonal propositions, subordinate clauses and major additions of time, location and cause.
Students will also be asked to make active the lexicon and theoretical issues they have learned by reworking of texts (summaries, commentaries, etc.), oral exposure or classroom discussion.
The lectures will be supplemented with the analysis of sample texts and audiovisual instruments and computer.
