Syllabus
Prerequisites: no prerequisites
Target skills and knowledge: Competences on computational methods and information technologies for audio and musical information processing, for artistic creation and for preservation and access of multimedia archives.
Examination methods: Written examination and presentation of independent projects
Assessment criteria: The evaluation of the student will be based on the critical understanding of theretical and applicative aspects presented during the lectures and the ability to apply in independent projects
Course unit contents: Affective computing and multimodal interaction. Models of audio signal and of acoustic sources. Auditory models and audio compression, standard MPEG-n. Music information retrieval. Multimedia archives. Computer aided restoration techniques. Computational methods for artistic creation: music performance, theater and dance, live electronics, sound design. Cultural and creative industries.
