Syllabus
Prerequisites:
Target skills and knowledge:: - Approaching the study of Childhood Pedagogy by connecting it with human rights' culture.
- Acquiring essential techno-practical lines towards an educational relationship between adults and children, with specific reference to the relationship between educator and children in the early years of life.
- Knowing about the pedagogical features of day nursery.
Course unit contents: - Identity and epistemological definition of the subject.
- Fundamental guidelines of the pedagogical action and the educational relationship between adults and children, with special attention to early childhood and its life contexts.
- Basic inputs in order to: define dignity and human rights / children's rights; outline the process tht led to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (New York, 1989); interpret the above-mentioned Convention.
- Critical examination, from a pedagogical point of view, of the condition of the child in our social and cultural context, with specific reference to the role of family and day nursery.
Planned learning activities: A detailed syllabus of the course, given to students during classes, may be requested to the professor by email.

Assessment criteria: The final evaluation consists in a written test (answers to open questions), based on the critical knowledge of the previously recommended bibliography.
