Syllabus
Prerequisites: Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of general education, developmental and educational psychology, instructional design.
Target skills and knowledge: Development of skills in the animation area for the early childhood educator through active methodologies and techniques for the organization and management of educational activities in infant toddlers and services for early childhood.
The main formative aim is to acquire educational skills related to strategies for animation and for the methodology of the play to promote competences about regarding:
- The planning contextualization of educational paths;
- To consolidate skills in planning educational interventions in the early childhood;
- The strategic use of methodologies and techniques for the development of cognitive and socio-affective processes;
- Narrative documentation
Examination methods: Structured test with open and closed questions. An oral examination (integration) is possible as integration.
Assessment criteria: The test aims to evaluate the knowledge of contents with particular regard to: references to theory, appropriate use of lexicon, capacity to do make conceptual inferences and capacity of personal elaboration in a reflective perspective to reflect and rielaborate.
Course unit contents: The five modules will be deepened from a theoretical point of view and will have applicative developments through the linking of lectures and workshop activities.

Module I: introduction to the theoretical foundations for the use of play and animation according to in an educational and psychological perspective of play and animation

Module II: Educational functions of play in early childhood services
Module III: The educational Communication through animation
Module IV: Teaching: setting, strategies, techniques, tools
Module V: Workshop on narrative documentation
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: Teacher-centred lecture, discussions, use of videos, and case analysis
Workshop on narrative documentation related to training experience.
