Syllabus
Prerequisites:
Target skills and knowledge:: The course aims are:
1. to promote a critical knowledge of the relationship between education and job with reference to modern and contemporary age;
2. to offer the methodological instruments to analyse the different educational models from a pedagogical point of view.
3. to promote a good knowledge of the origins, the evolution and professional opportunities of the educator.
Course unit contents: 1. The role of work in modern and contemporary education. Pedagogical theories and experiences.
2. The educator: his origins, his identity, his perspectives.
Planned learning activities: 1. Job training and school as main educational models. The beginning of job education in the educational theories of modern age. Job as a didactic method and as a school subject. Industrial revolution and the development of schooling. Job in Italian school. Job education in the XX century. New educational needs in the present.
2. Education in Italy in the last decades: different approaches. The educator: his origins, his identity, his perspectives. Becoming an educator: motivations, apprenticeship, professional competence.

Description of test:
The final test will be based on the reference bibliography assessed according to the point of view expressed during the lessons (eventually with a personal project).
Further information: Gli studenti non frequentanti dovranno portare all’esame il testo indicato in bibliografia. Qualora essi scelgano la prova finale nella forma scritta (che avrà luogo unicamente alla fine del corso), dovranno sostenere, dopo il superamento della stessa, un’integrazione orale sul testo oppure consegnare una relazione scritta sul testo stesso, preventivamente concordata con il docente.
