Common characteristics of the Integrated Course unit

Specific characteristics of the Module

Course unit contents: Theorethical lectures
Respiratory diseases: Avian Influenza; Newcastle Disease; other Avian Paramyxoviruses and Metapneumovirus Infections; Infectious Bronchitis; Infectious Laryngotracheitis; Pox; Colibacillosis; Mycoplasmosis; short outline on other respiratory diseases.
Lymphatic and Myelopoietic Diseases: Infectious Bursal Disease; Chicken Infectious Anemia; Marek’s Disease; Leukosis/Sarcoma Group; Reticuloendotheliosis; Limphoproliferative Disease.
Digestive Diseases: Salmonella Infections: Pullorum Disease and Fowl Typhoid, Paratyphoid Infections; Adenovirus Infections: Group I Adenovirus Infections, Egg Drop Syndrome, Hemorrhagic Enteritis and related Infections, Quail Bronchitis; short outline on other digestive diseases.
Parasitic Diseases: Protozoal Infections: Coccidiosis, Histomoniasis, Trichomoniasis.

Practicals
Poultry necropsy, post-mortem diagnosis, differential diagnosis of the principal poultry diseases
Planned learning activities and teaching methods: The Course is composed by:
theorethical lectures = 30 hours
practicals = 10 hours
The Course is completed with practical training during Tirocinio, an hands-on activity performed under the supervision of a teacher
