Syllabus
Prerequisites:
Target skills and knowledge:: Detailed understanding of electronic instrumentation for measurement and signal analysis; acquire the ability to correctly employ instruments for research and development and/or in testing activities.
Capability to lay-out and realise a measuring system and to correctly perform measurement on electronic devices at various degrees of complexity.
Course unit contents:
Planned learning activities: Measurement fundamentals.
Time-domain signal analysis: digital oscilloscopes, probes, reflectometry, measurement on digital links.
Frequency-domain signal analysis: scanning spectrum analysers, vector signal analysers.
Programmable and distributed measurement systems: implementation criteria, software environments, protocols and standards.
Measurement of time-frequency and of electrical quantities.
Radio-frequency measurement.
