Syllabus
Prerequisites: Students should have attended Modern Greek course level I and respective course held by a mother-tongue teacher.
Target skills and knowledge::
Course unit contents: During the course: selection of several textes in Modern Greek and respective Italian translations, depending on students' language skills.

- Reading of a translated text chosen with the Professor.
- R. Clogg, Storia della Grecia moderna dalla caduta dell'impero bizantino a oggi, Milano 1996: chapters 1-4 for Moden Greek Literature level I; chapters 5-9 for Modern Greek Literature level II.
- M. Vitti, Storia della letteratura neogreca, Roma 2001: chapters 1-9 for Modern Greek Literature level I; chapters 10-18 for Modern Greek Literature level II.
Planned learning activities: The symbolism in Greece. Formal structures in Cavafy: reading selection of "Poems" (recognized, rejected, unpublished, unfinished).
