Prerequisites: - Knowledge of the anatomy of the central nervous system and main vascular districts.
- General knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging, PET and SPECT
- Interest in understanding pathogenesis, anatomical changes, clinical cognitive and behavioural consequences of neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer, Parkinson and Tauopathies, Multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and stroke
- Interest in improving skills in neuropsychological assessment and understanding the tests involved in the five main cognitive domains with reference to the aforementioned disorders particularly Alzheimer and Parkinson
Examination methods: Written test: Multiple choice questions and one open question
Oral test: Two or three questions on the entire course program

Finel score is the mean of the written and oral score
Course unit contents: - General knowledges of anatomy and biochemistry of the central nervous system including neurotransmitters
- General knowledges of neuroimaging
- Pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and prognosis, possibility of pharmacological and surgical treatment and neurpsychological correlates of the following diseases:
- Alzheimer dementia
- Parkinson disease
- Tauopathies including progressive sopranuclear palsy, cortico-basal syndrome and front-temporal dementia
- Huntington disease
- Gilles de la Tourette syndrome
- Epilepsy
- Cerebrovascular diseases
- Multiple sclerosis
- Palliative care and end of life
