Main parameters of a solar cell: I-V curve, Filling factor, efficiency, spectral response.
The production chain of C-Si solar cells and its market.
Physical and chemical properties of silicon.
Polysilicon production: Siemens process, Union Carbide process, Elkem process.
UMG silicon production: costs, material properties, future perspectives.
Crystal growth processes: CZ and FZ for mono, DSS for multi.
Innovation in crystal growth: the quasi-mono casting process
Sqauring and wafering.
Production chain of C-si cells and modules.
Thinfilm production technologies: a:Si, CdTe, CIS and CIGS.
III-V solar cells with high efficiency
CPV – Concentration PV and the use of multijunction cells (brief introduction).
Charcterization of solar cells and modules
