Research areas
Computational Biology: the research activity concerns the development of mathematical models and algorithms to address Biomedical and Biophysical problems. In particular, in the last years, the research have focused on the predictions of structure, functions and interactions of biological molecules, including the effects of their variations on the cells or organisms

Machine-learning: this research concerns the development of new models and implementation of machine learning tools to tackle problems where direct solutions are not feasible, or the amount of data make them not applicable. Among the implemented methods, there are: Neural Networks (deep and shallow),
Extreme Learning Machines, Hidden Markov Models and Conditional Random Fields.
