Curriculum Vitae
Sabrina Antonello obtained her Laurea Degree in Chemistry in 1996, from the University of Padova. She obtained the PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2000, from the same University. From February 2000 to January 2004 she was Post-doc at the Department of Physical Chemistry of the University of Padova. From 2006 she is assistant professor at the Chemical Science Department of the University of Padova.
Advanced Schools attended: 1) “Recent Electrochemical Methodologies”, 2) “Scanning Probe Microscopy”, 3) “ Mass Spectra Interpretation”, 4) Probe Microscopy: from theory to biological applications, 5) “Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy”.
Grants and Awards: 1) ERASMUS grant carried out at the Chemistry Department of Newcastle upon Tyne University in 1994. 2) “Mario Lazzari” 2001 award for the best PhD thesis in electrochemistry, sponsored by the Electrochemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society. 3) “Dr. Comm. Alceste Mion” 2005 award for the relevance of the research in the field of chemistry. 4) Grant for Young Researcher in 2003, funded by the University of Padova, for a project dealing with electronic communication through peptide bridges and peptide monolayer-protected clusters. 5) PRAT Grant in 2010, funded by the University of Padova.
Since 1995, she is involved in research activity in the Electrochemistry Group of the Department of Physical Chemistry of the University of Padova. Such an activity has dealt with different aspects of molecular electrochemistry and organic physical chemistry, with special attention to the study of kinetic and mechanistic aspects of heterogeneous, homogeneous and intramolecular dissociative electron transfers reactions. More recently, her scientific interest was devoted to the study of electron transfer reaction in systems of biological relevance such as peptide bridges, to the applications of microscopy techniques (SECM, EC-STM and AFM), electrochemical biosensors for the detection of cancer biomarkers and, mostly, to the investigation of the properties of molecule-like monolayer-protected gold nanoclusters.
Her research work has led to publish 43 scientific papers in high-impact-factor international journals (h-index=19). Other papers have been published in specific books of the Electrochemical Society. She is Co-author of about eighty communications to national and international meetings. Invited keynote speaker al Joint Meeting of the Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry Divisions of the Italian Chemical Society (Ferrara 2002) and at the Electrochemistry Division Meeting (Genova 2008, Gragnano 2016). Invited speaker at some Meeting of The Electrochemical Society (San Francisco 2001, Paris 2003, Phoenix 2008). She co-organized the Giornate dell’Elettrochimica Italiana (September 2004) and the 1st ECHEMS Meeting – Electrochemistry in Nanosciences (June 2005).
