Curriculum Vitae
Giulio Rosati received the Laurea degree "magna cum laude" in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padua, Italy, in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mechanics at the University of Brescia, Italy, in 2003.
Associate Professor (since Dec06) and Assistant Professor (Jan04-Nov06) at the School of Engineering of the University of Padua, Italy, he holds the National Qualification as Full Professor in Machine Mechanics since 2014. He teaches Machine Mechanics, Industrial Robotics and Control of Mechanical Systems. Member of the Faculty Board of the Doctoral School in Mechatronics Engineering, Associate of IFToMM Italy and of the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). He is in charge for the DNV-certified ISO9001 quality management system of the Robotics and Automation Labs, and responsible of the Robotics and Rehabrobotics Labs, of the Mechanical Engineering Building of University of Padua, since 2002.
He leaded several research contracts in the field of flexible automated production systems (single-station flexible robotic assembly, mixed-model automated production of customized goods, flexible robotic assembly lines) with major companies such as Luxottica Srl, Luxottica Group SpA, Mitsubishi Electric Europe BV, Fischer Italia Srl, Carraro SpA, Alstom Grid SpA, Grid Solutions SpA, Sierra SpA. His research activity spans from industrial robotics to medical/interactive robotics, machine mechanics and mechanical systems control, and received several national and international awards. He is author or co-author of more than 130 scientific papers published in international journals and international conference proceedings, and 4 patents.
He participated to several National and International Research Projects, among which: one PRIN Project funded by the Italian Ministry of Research, entitled "Intelligent CAble-driven roBOTs (ICABOT): an adaptive approach to robot design and control" (Principal Investigator); one FIRB Project funded by the Italian Ministry of Research, entitled "Flexible haptic system for rehabilitation" (Research Unit PI). Reviewer of national and international project proposals for: Medical Research Council (since 2017), MIUR (since 2007), CNR (since 2014), Swiss National Science Foundation (2015), Italian-French University (since 2008); Canadian Foundation for Innovation (2010).
