Brief description of the degree course
Caratteristiche e finalità
Il corso fornisce una solida preparazione sulle principali culture antiche che si sono succedute nel Mediterraneo e in Europa, dalla Preistoria al Medioevo, attraverso lo studio di molteplici insegnamenti di carattere archeologico, storico-artistico e culturale. Il corso insegna, inoltre, le principali linee metodologiche della scienza archeologica moderna, e promuove l'apprendimento di materie specialistiche in ambito chimico, fisico e geologico applicate alla conoscenza dei materiali e dei contesti archeologici.
Queste conoscenze teoriche sono integrate da un percorso formativo a carattere pratico con esercitazioni (stage) presso cantieri archeologici per l'apprendimento delle metodologie dello scavo archeologico stratigrafico, della ricognizione di superficie, delle prospezioni geofisiche, dell'uso della strumentazione grafica, fotografica e topografica di rilievo, dell'elaborazione informatica dei dati.
Il percorso formativo prevede, infine, lo studio della legislazione dei beni culturali, la buona padronanza di almeno una lingua moderna dell'Unione europea e la conoscenza dei principali strumenti informatici applicati alla ricerca, alla tutela e alla valorizzazione dei beni culturali, in particolare del patrimonio archeologico.

Ambiti occupazionali
Il corso forma: archeologi da inserire nelle sedi periferiche del Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività culturali (soprintendenze archeologiche e regionali), negli enti locali (comuni, province, regioni) e negli enti museali pubblici e privati; operatori in società di servizi specializzate nel settore degli scavi archeologici; esperti d'arte antica (classificatore, certificatore, documentarista, consulente nel settore del restauro); esperti di pubblicità e divulgazione multimediale nel settore dei beni culturali; consulenti per progettazione e gestione di siti e parchi archeologici; operatori impegnati nella realizzazione di carte archeologiche, nelle valutazioni di rischio nell'ambito dell'archeologia preventiva, nei processi di analisi, valutazione, monitoraggio e valorizzazione delle risorse archeologiche.

Dalla triennale alla magistrale
Il corso dà accesso al corso di laurea magistrale in Scienze archeologiche, secondo le modalità che saranno indicate nello specifico avviso di ammissione.
